"The 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan is a policy plan that provides a foundation for priortizing transportation investments across the state and helps accomplish ODOT’s vision to provide a connected, multimodal transportation system that supports a thriving economy and improve quality of like for Oklahomans by prodviding for safe and efficient movement of people and goods

The Long Range Plan covered five categories of passenger rail needs:

• Coninuation of operations of the Heatland Flyer.
• Addition of a second daily roundtrip.
• Create a station at Thackerville
• Extension to Newton, Kansas
